You’re exhausted! What is sleep? You’re not sleeping, the babies aren’t sleeping, and now sleep-deprivation has truly overtaken any memory of sanity and any recognition of YOU – or who you once were before kids.
You prayed to just get through the infant, the baby, the toddler stage and then – you blinked.
Then it’s all the firsts. First steps, first words, first day of Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd grade…and then you remembered you blinked and all the sudden your baby is growing up in milliseconds in front of your eyes. Or when you blinked. When did this happen so fast?
Then your baby isn’t your baby any more…here’s a reminder to capture these precious moments, breathe in these fleeting glimpses of joy. Here’s why it’s so important and how YOU can take in each beautiful step along the journey. Here’s how to discover and enjoy capturing the journey…
These precious babies of ours. Your angels.
Some days it seems like you can’t make it through the day, then before you know it – they are walking on their own, then running, then Kindergarten – and then, before you know it, they grow up on ya. Funny how that works. You can’t wait ’til they get a bit independent and yet you want them to be your baby again.
Oh, the irony.
Isn’t it so easy to get captured in the journey of the “everyday-ness” of feeding, cleaning, laundry, homework, sports, activities, the daily parenting grind – and then they are in high school.
YES.
It happens THAT FAST.
That’s what happened as we were celebrating our – dare I say it, teenager.
Wait. Where’s my baby? Where did the years go? Why so fast?
SLOW DOWN. Don’t grow up so fast.
Or at least, let’s capture these in-between whispers of time.
We pray to give you roots, we help to build your wings, but don’t fly away just yet.
Let’s capture the now.
What special moments do you do? Remember what it’s about as they are growing into themselves.
- Make it about THEM. Their special traits, qualities, uniqueness and individuality.
- Make it SIMPLE. It’s not about the money, it’s about the memories.
- Make it SPECIAL. It’s the traditions, their talents, their triumphs.

Those middle years. Those formative years. Those awkward years. They are SO CRUCIAL. These tween, middle school, early teen years, well, sometimes – they can just suck. But this is an opportunity for us to celebrate who our kids are now. And help shape it. Help shape their self-esteem. By not just letting them be who they are but highlighting their uniqueness. This is about empowering your kids .Boost their confidence and reveal to them how amazing and incredible they really are -and this is the perfect opportunity! Help form strong, empowered kids growing into confident, strong young men and women.

This incredible person we are shaping.

And we are looking to help them uncover and celebrate themselves.
We are teaming up with the exquisite photographer David Quisenberry as he helps tell the story of our boys now. We will be taking you along with us as we do this over the holiday break – uh, yes – we are all looking to keep our kids active while they are out of school for the holiday break, so it’s the perfect time. Can’t wait to share this with you. He is the consummate professional photographer, it’s the 3 boys and me chasing them around that will be the circus. Follow along for the fun, the laughs – and then the stories David tells through his lens, his talent and finally, the portraits. I can’t wait to share.
